Hello!
I'm a 25 year old man who has worked out on and off for most of his life. I've floated between 200-215 for the last five years or so. In the past I've done quite a bit of weight lifting but I've shifted my focus to cardio and body weight work (going to the gym 5- 6 times a week typically spending 1-2 hours p/visit). I've always struggled to drop weight and increase my cardio (the notable exception being a 2 month cycling trip). This is my first time seriously committing to calorie counting, I want to really get the most out of the work I'm putting in! I'm trying to have a diet which most closely resembles a Keto diet (Fat intake being the highest, followed by protein, with the least amount of calories coming from carbs), albeit I'm only loosely following this at the moment. I'm considering starting intermittent fasting but I have concerns on maintaining it throughout weekends when I may choose to go out.
I'm interested to hear any tips you may have but specifically:
1.) favorite healthy snacks
2.) how you go about meal prep
3.) any vegetarian recipes you may have
4.) experience/success with intermittent fasting
Definitely hope to hear from some people!

Sounds like me, just stick with it.
I'll sometimes meal prep, but I have the time to cook throughout the week. I'll usually prep chicken and pork and weight it out day by day to hit macros. Things like veggies I'll just prep on the spot because I like them fresh, just a quick saute in some butter or olive oil. Things like fish or steak I'll cook for that meal.
I fast (and exercise fasted) until early-late afternoon. If you can't do that on the weekends it's fine, just stick with it whenever you can through the week.
I try to stay low carb (under 30 usually) so snacks include veggies, cheese (smoked string cheese!), jerky, or pork rinds, and nuts.
Hitting around 1500 cal not hungry, achieved near my goal weight really quickly.0
