I am on thyroid meds now and my levels are back to normal, can anyone recommend the best type of diet to be on to loose weight while having thyroid issues?

Follow the above advice to the letter.

Had a total thyroidectomy in 2000 and put on 70 lbs over 14 years, then lost 60 lbs since starting MFP and in maintenance since 2015. Just keep logging.

All the above. I have tested the soy theory with protein powder, same dose meds and blood work. It seemed to be true. Without soy my thyroid blood levels were more acceptable.

Take your thyroid meds an hour before other food, drink(aside from water), and other meds for optimal uptake. Do not take with your morning coffee!

I have had hashimotos hypothyroid disease since I was 10 years old, I have never had to go on a diet to lose weight. Just watch your calories in/ calories out, set a deficit using MFP , log as accurately as possible, try to eat a well balanced diet meeting your macros, and exercise for bonus calories to eat and for your health. The only thing I don't do is eat soy, because my doctor told me not to. Make sure you take your thyroid pill in the morning on an empty stomach and don't have anything to eat, or drink besides water for at least an hour. Don't let this disease scare you, it really is very easy to manage and not noticeable once under control with your medications. You CAN lose weight!
