Struggling

I’m 19 years old and I weight 220lbs. I started exercising at least 4 or 5 times a week and surpassed my usual one week gym sessions. But now I’m diss appointed. I lose motivation and get lost. I’m on a plant based diet.

Welcome! How long have you been on your new plan? It's not uncommon to start off in a very extreme way and gas yourself out, but please try to remember that weight loss always takes longer than you think it will. It's more effective to go at 50% effort if it means you can stay on plan for the next year than to go at MAXIMUM EFFORT and give up after a month.

You didn't mention your eating plan. Calorie intake has a much larger impact on weight loss than exercise does.

I'm going to recommend a couple of really helpful links:

    http://community.myfitnesspal.com/en/discussion/1080242/a-guide-to-get-you-started-on-your-path-to-sexypants/p1

The first covers accurate logging and some of the tools in MFP to help you make things easier. The second discusses caloric needs and setting goals. These are two of the most commonly-referenced threads on MFP; tons of people point to them as being sources of great info when you're starting out.

The fact that the first thing you mentioned was exercise indicates that your attention is in the wrong place. Weight loss happens in the kitchen, fitness/strength happens in the gym.

Focus on your food. Eating in a calorie deficit, plant based or otherwise, is what will lead to weight loss.

Log your food honestly and accurately, even on weekends, even when you eat above your calorie budget.

I find if i push too hard with the exercise i loose interest within the first week. Baby steps with exercise and focus on food intake, logging daily helps
