I ate 1 turkey sandwich with tomato onions and cheese and I'm wondering when it would be ok to go for a jog. Let me know...thanks!

I usually get cramps if I eat sooner than 1.5 to 2 hours before I run.

I usually wait about an hour or so, depending on what I ate.

If it's something light like that, I need about an hour. A bigger meal (especially salad) means at least two hours. Otherwise I feel like I'm going to hurl. The only way you'll know is if you try... but I'd wait at least an hour. Just me.

I run first thing in the morning on an empty stomach. On the very rare occasions I run in the afternoons, I need a couples hours or I cramp up (but that's just me).

I wait about an hour, unless I've just eaten a super heavy meal.

Thanks! I ate almost an hour ago so I might give it a try if I start cramping I'll walk. Thanks!

I often run after dinner (within 20 min) it's actually good for you.

I would wait at least 45 mins to an hour.
  • Depends on the meal you have. Lighter meals you can usually get by with about 30min.

Ideally I'd eat 2 to 3 hours before running. If I can't wait I either don't eat until after or I'll eat something small like a banana about 30 mins to an hour before.

Sometimes I'm eating as I leave the house lol - like an apple or a spoon of peanut butter.
I always judge it like this - if I don't feel full AND I don't feel hungry, i.e. my tummy is giving me zero signals I'm good to go :)
    Works for me x

Yeah, I won't be eating before I do C25K anymore. I did ok until about the 1.25 mile mark and I had to completely stop jogging and just walked. Next time I'll just have a fruit and then go for a jog...that sandwich was a bit much.

Thank you all for your advice.
