Isolate fat from muscle - tips?

Hi - despite gaining weight after an injury and suffering mobility loss, my muscle mass has remained fairly intact. I was recently advised after an exam that what they could see is that the fat I've gained has really clamped onto the muscle, and I would benefit from massage and breaking it down a bit. I'm wondering what steps others have taken to remedy this?

How was this tested, and who advised you of that?9 -
I wouldn't go back to whoever gave you that "exam". They're trying to sell you something, and what they're telling you has no basis in fact.12

Fat doesn't clamp onto muscle.8

Yeah, that's not a thing that happens9 -
I think they may be trying to sell you a massage.

Now I want a massage to de-clamp my fat...9

I’m genuinely curious as to the type of practitioner that said this. And if any other info was given.
Please don’t take this as a reflection on you, OP. We all get told crazy things about dieting but this is really out there.7 -
this is a new one for me. never heard it before. wow cant believe someone would make a claim like that. where did this happen?2
-
I only wish that fat could be massaged away! It would make weight loss so much easier and more enjoyable.7

That's very simply not how it works. You were talking to a quack.4

Massages are good. But not for that reason. They dont seperate anything the just untighten, which is worth it0

Massages are kinda awesome, for diverse reasons. I get a 90-minute version from an expert practitioner biweekly (tried bunchezOpeople before picking him (subjectively).
Don't pick practitioners who tell you physiologically impossible stuff, would be my advice.
But whaddaddooo I know: My view fails to admit magic.
Srsly: Massage is lovely. Don't pick MTs who feed you crap. They might be able to to break down scar tissue - even that is iffy - but fat? Nope. NopeNopeNope. Run from those people.2 -
Tip - run away from whoever told you that fairy tale, that's simply complete nonsense and they are trying to separate you from your money rather than your fat from your muscle.2
