    Assuming that you're new to MFP, welcome!

    There are as many "ways of eating" (WOE) as there are people, which is to say that the choices you make about what you ingest are highly individualized, in terms of what satiates you and keeps you full until your next meal. There are also any number of debates over these issues, and an entire legion of MFPers who will engage you in the discussion thereof.

    The bottom line is that you must burn more calories than you take in, in order to lose weight. Period.

    My advice to you is to find a WOE that you can sustain, enter your stats into MFP's calculator, stick to the calorie goals that it gives you, and log your food accurately. You will lose weight.
