Hi there, quite new to this, but would thought I would just ask anyone - if I was to have a Chinese Takeaway, what would be the best choice to have with fewest calories etc?

Many thanks

My guys make a wonderfull Soy Chicken - it is steamed chicken - I get that with steamed rice and bok choy.....remove the chicken skin - dont eat all the rice - eat all the bok choy - yum!!

The other place I go to does a fabulous Brocolli, Cauliflower and Chicken Stir Fry.......

Try to stay away from anything with sweet sauces, or deep fried and you can eat quite nice and healthy

I always have Singapore rice noodles, they are quite low in fat and delicious! I actually have this about once a week for dinner.

    I always go for thai/japanese.

Near me there's an amazing restaurant, I always end up getting king prawns with broccoli, garlic and pak choi with jasmine rice!

I can't really say about the calories as I'm not too sure. There are calorie checkers online for general takeaway food. I can't really eat takeaway as it gives me palpitations - think it must be the sugar or additives or something. But the last time I had chinese I practiced tight portion control and had fruit for dessert and no palps or weight gain. So maybe you could try portion control of the things you like - share with someone else and cut calories that way too.

Re previous comment. The palpitations are caused by MSG, i get them too. Chinese food is the worst for this. Indian is okay, but the calories can be horrific.

...and more bad news from me! Not sure where you are, but in the UK they are loaded with salt. If you tend to retain water if you eat too much salt, (like me) steer clear just before weigh day or you might get a nasty surprise on the scales which will be down to water retention :-(

Thank you for that link - it's good to see Calories on these kind of foods!

I would just say dont have too many takeaways, and have what you like foodwise when you do. Everyone needs a treat, aslong as you dont binge eat. If you are having a couple of takeaways a week, Id say thats the time to start looking to trim things down.
