Last month I climbed Everest on a bicycle!
OK will admit that's not strictly true and reality isn't anywhere close.
Everest is 8848m high and my elevation gain from my bike rides in October was 8904m as a personal challenge to improve my hill climbing ability.36 -
Ran a 5k in 32:30 yesterday!28

I have slayed my dragon pants! 5 years ago, I bought khakis which, back then, barely fit, but I wanted them, damnit! They've been hanging in my closet ever since, having been worn a grand total off 0 times. I once tried them on again and could not get them past my thighs. Today, on a whim, I tried them on again, and not only do they fit, but I won't be able to wear them much longer, because they're already very loose. Go me!43

LOL, no, dragon pants - or dragon anything - is a piece of clothing that you've been wanting to get back into for ages, and it would never fit. Until you "slayed the dragon" and they fit again.

You should be able to go from 62.51 to 100. My best before I did the Century ride was 57 miles. I have been off the bike since breaking my ankle this summer. Heading to the gym this morning hopefully can get back on the bike sometime before the weather is too cold.13 -

I currently weigh in at 217 pounds. I have fought diabetes/prediabetes all my life - currently use insulin (watch your sugars). I used to road ride and mountain bike trail ride in my younger years. This exercise bike really helps out - completely quiet, 8 resistance levels, nice comfy seat, and computer tracks trip distance, calories, time, speed, odometer. I am excited to be doing this and achieving goals - don't have to go outside ride in the inclement weather. Better than in 2014 when I was lying in ER, the Doc's telling me I have 10% chance to live. They said if I want to live, I will have to really dig down deep and try. It was really hard lying in that hospital bed and listening to the whispering aspens, when I know I had so many more things I want to do. I'm a few more steps closer to getting to a level I want. Going to take some time, but will get there. I was always really fit, all the way up to my thirties - currently 50yrs old. It feels good to be sweating again, working out and increasing my stamina. Work towards getting back that feeling of being in the 'zone'.
My stationary bike was the best thing I ever did for my diabetes. There are no excuses with a stationary bike, you can ride it in the rain, in the snow, without getting dressed or going anywhere. If you feel ill or tired, you can go slower, if you feel energetic you can go faster.
FYI Three short bouts of cardio immediately after eating are better for glucose control than one longer bout at another time - use the meals you already eat as fuel, and it will also drop your levels for a double win. Different people react differently to exercise, but in my case if I do intervals at near max I can drop my levels from too high to normal in fifteen minutes. It's a nice tool to have!11 -
My husband is a university professor at a school with a pretty big ballroom presence. We went dancing at a campus ballroom dance and killed it over those kids 20 years younger than us. 2 hours of straight dancing and I was not even sore the next day. Woohoo!28

At BodyPump today, in the shoulder track, I did those pressups on my toes for the very first time.
They weren’t good pressups and I was a bit marginal on actually getting my chest to my elbows, but they were my first ever ‘proper’ pressups. And six months ago I could barely even do a pressup against the wall, so I’m feeling pretty good right now31 -
I noticed that my 21yo daughter left a pair of pajama pants home after she left for college. After about 3 months, I got tired of looking at them just sitting there folded up serving no purpose. So for haha's I tried them on. O-M-G, they fit so guess who just inherited them. FYI, she said she didn't want them anymore.27

I have two! My husband and I finished our first half marathon on Nov 3, which was the first anniversary of our finishing c25k and first running a 5k.
Also, Nov 5 marked one year of living at a normal weight BMI.52 -
This is kind of a mixed one but I'm taking it.
First date tonight, hadnt met before. We got on the subject of sports we used to play. After I listed mine he asked if I'd soccer or softball. When I repeated soccer, he said, Yeah, I was surprised when i heard softball, you dont have that kind of figure.
Naturally I assumed this was some sort of derision and he was calling me fat, but before I could dump my scalding tea in his lap he added that all the girls he knew who played softball were pretty big girls.
Now this was just generally an awkward conversational turn, and I'm not sure that's an accurate generalization of softball players, but I have never ever been considered not a big girl, or a girl with a smaller figure. What the what.23
