App Syncing Issues

Hey Everyone. Restarting the MFP thing. Different goals, different profile, new amounts of fun! Anyway: I'm having an issue with app synchronizations. I use Garmin Connect because I have Garmin everything (most important to this conversation a running watch and a scale). I also use TrainingPeaks because I hired a run coach (busy grad student; I don't have time to think of training plans myself so I budget in some help improving). Synced Garmin Connect so that I can get my weight/stats and activity tracking (steps) ported right over. Synced TrainingPeaks so that my coach can see my food stats. The unfortunate side effect has been that whenever I go for a run, I now see duplicate runs: Garmin talks to TrainingPeaks, which then talks to MFP AND Garmin talks to MFP directly. The result is that a 90-minute run tonight looks like I can feast tonight! haha.

Anyway, has anyone else encountered this dilemma? If so, how did you solve it? I have been manually deleting one of the exercises every time, but that's a pain in the **ahem** "behind". Any ideas?

Thanks all!

-Mike

I have the same problem but with different apps. It is a pain but I just change my calories burned from Map My Run down to 1 calorie and just go by steps.
  • I cant fer mu Garmin connect to put my stats in this app at all. They go into mapmyrun fine though

    Disconnect Garmin and MFP.

Or is ONLY the workout coming over from TP, not the daily burn figure for MFP to do math with?

If no daily burn - you'll have to decide what's most useful/annoying.

MFP is obviously not needed for an exercise diary, as GC and TP is much better - so MFP doesn't need the workouts. But both are going to send at least that.

All MFP needs is total daily burned to figure out how much extra to eat - the workout is optional, and in fact some trackers don't send workouts to MFP.

If TP doesn't send the Garmin's total daily burned, and I doubt it would - you'll need to see what your avg weekly activity level is outside of exercise.

Then pick the MFP level that causes the closest to that amount of accounted for burn.

Then let TP sync in the workouts.

    Disconnect GC from MFP.
