Yes, you can...you can drink so much that you flush too much sodium from your body. As long as you drink 1/2 your body weight in ounces of water per day, you're doing great!0

if you drink an ungodly amount there is such a thing as drowning yourself not sure of the correct term. but its really difficult to do0

There is a condition know as "water drunk", however, it is usually marathon runners who can die from this. Too much water screws up the electrolytes. My patient was MR / OCD. He would walk around the house and every time he passed the kitchen, he would drink a glass of water. Honestly it only took him 3 minutes to walk around the house -- that equals 20 glasses of water an hour!! He had a 5 gal bucket he would use for his urine. But this is not typical behavior for the average person. If you are dripping sweat for hours and drink gallons and gallons of water, do gaterade or eat salt / bananas. This usually doesn't concern the average person. So drink away!0

Yes you most certainly can. It's known as water intoxifiaction
Here's quite a balanced article on the condition from the BBC

Of course, if you spread consumption over a day and drink more during/after exercise then there should be minimal risk.

A friend of mine, a high school football coach, was helping at Ed Reed's Football camp in Baltimore. He is in fairly good shape and was drinking water all day. Spent the night and the next day in the hospital because did flush out the sodium from his body. The heat coupled with being on a turf field, which can be so hot in the summer it can start to melt your shoes, did him in. He always teases me know because I drink a lot of water saying that stuff will kill me!0
