10 Lbs Feels Harder Than 50!

I’m almost 26 years old. I’m not overweight. By most people’s standards, I don’t need to be on a diet. But I’ve gained over 10 lbs since moving to the Midwest from Denver and the self-worth is on the decline.
I dance ballet and this extra weight is starting to affect my balance and jumps.
I tried this app for three weeks and lost a lb per week, and now I’ve hit a plateau. I’m not even sustaining, I’m somehow GAINING my weight back on.
I need someone! I need someone who is in her twenties or thirties to help me stay on track and keep motivated when I want to give up. It’s hard to resist that glass of wine when I have an extra 150 calories at the end of the day, ya dig?

Hey girl- I hear you! I’m 33 and earlier this year was in a great exercise and food routine, and then the summer hit and I’ve been eating whatever the hell I want and avoided the gym.
I’m looking to lose some weight so I can feel that self-love again, and fit into my clothes. Let’s see if we can support each other and share healthy, organic meal ideas??0 -
A lot of people see a big initial drop on the scale when they first start "a diet". Most of it can be explained by reduced food in your system, or a water weight drop if you've reduced your carbs. If you're not over weight then losing 1lb of fat per week is pretty unlikely! In fact you should probably be aiming for half that if you only have 10lb to lose. Now that you've gotten over that initial drop the losses will seem slower and smaller and can be covered up/ masked by the natural fluctuations in your body. My weight can fluctuate +/-5lb day to day at the extreme depending on what I've eaten or what time of the month it is.
I would recommend downloading a weight trending app, weigh yourself more often than once a week and only look at what direction the trend is heading. If there's no change for a period of 4-6 weeks then you can start worrying about a plateau.
(Also, if you have the calories, you can have the wine )0 -

Right there with you!! I was running a lot this summer, but not doing anything else and eating and drinking WAY more than I needed to. I was 11lbs up from my normal weight, got back on mfp last week....and am up 13lbs today. 😫 I’m getting dangerously close to my old weight from when I first got on mfp 4 years ago. I need to drop it again and get back to that feel good weight and healthy lifestyle I maintained for 3 years! And yes, avoid that glass of wine, even if I have 150 calories left in the day...
