OMG. My daughter works for a store with home made pastries. At the end of the day she brings home stuff that didn't sell that day. She brought home these amazing home made donuts - pumpkin donut with cinnamon/sugar on them. I had to have one. They are DENSE and heavy but normal size donuts. My life would be sad if I didn't eat one.

Do you think it's safe using a Dunkin pumpkin donut to log? (340 calories) I'm thinking of tacking on another 25 calories just to be safe, lol

I’d recommend giving everyone here a bite so we can all have enough information to judge. And that way, you get to log fewer calories too. Win win!

(I’d just use the closest database entry and not worry about it.)

I do that, just using the weight of the donut I ate. I use Tim Horton's menu for a lot of pastries that don't have nutritional info.

I had a homemade pumpkin donut with thick cream cheese frosting the other day. So freaking amazing. Luckily, it's bulking season so I didn't even try to log it.

We bake doughnuts at home sometimes. I just entered a recipe for a pumpkin doughnut with frosting and it came to ~325 calories so I'd say your estimate is pretty close.

I would select the closest equivalent from the USDA site (cake or yeast? jelly-filled, creme-filled or unfilled? glazed, frosted or plain?) and log it by weight. Doughnuts come in all kinds of sizes.
