golf and calories

I have a question which has been puzzling me. I have been lucky enough to play golf whilst on holiday for the last 7 days and have been carrying my clubs to aid fitness rather than use a trolley. My question is how does the calories calculator work? and is it accurate because,as I have been on holiday I have eaten all of the calories back A round of golf can take approximately 2.5 hours and I have stayed the same weight when I weighed in today. I was a little disappointed with this as my weight loss has slowed up in the last few weeks and I was hoping this might kick start it again. Just for info I allow myself 1400 calories per day. I am normally a desk jockey by day so do not normally have the luxury of all this exercise other than circuit training which I do once a week and golf at weekends.

Hello Bob!
Yes it is a bit discouraging after chasing a perfectly good Titleist around the links for a week and nothing to show for it. I also enjoy carrying my clubs when I play. As far as calorie burn on the course, let's assume 6000 yards per round=18000 ft/ 5280 ft per mile=3.4 miles walked per day. Play 7 days (lucky you!) and we are at about 24 miles. So at 100 cals per mile, you burned 2400 calories. Assume that it takes 3500 cals to lose 1 pound, you can see why more weight did not come off. Did you celebrate at the 19th hole? I think that you would greatly benefit from some HIIT (high intensity interval training) to jump-start your weight loss. Good luck!0 -
thanks for the info0
