Diet wise...my suggestion is DO NOT try to do it ALL at once. Make small changes that you know you can do for the rest of your life. Stack the "little wins" to gain momentum, get in 64 oz of water, walk for 15 min. Portion out your snacks instead of eating them from the container. Little things like that will lead to bigger and better over time. You also will not become overwhelmed by finding a few small things and sticking to them.
Also, do not jump on board fad diet trains just because Sharon in accounting is doing it. Do what feels best for your body and make sure, again, that it is something that you know you can do for the rest of your life. You can try things, but if it feels like crap STOP.
As for the MFP (Myfitnesspal) side of things, do what makes you feel comfortable. There are SO many things you can learn, see, and do on here. There are groups, challenges, chat threads for just about anything, or you can just keep your own data and use it. Good luck!!1
