I am 47 year young and I am currently at 255 pounds I stand at 5'5 and have a great personality however very sad woman inside as I cant believe I have gotten this much to lose I have been in the program for only a short time I use my fitness pal daily however I don't eat enough some days I don't have some meals but I only cook for self and to do that its so much hassle to even worry about so I have a can a soup or that half box of kd ..
I have been looking at how much I eat I don't really go out to eat and I don't drink (booze ) that much I have been trying to quit smoking but this past 2 years I have been so depressed that I am not hungry or I just sleep most of the time its hard for me to get out of bed some days and I love to sleep but I do know that
I have to go out this week I have tried to get to the gym but with appointments and waiting on people I have not been able too and I say this week Is different and I will get there but like always something comes up so back to my issues I don't eat that much and I have alarms on my cell to remind me to go eat something, most of the time I just eat cereal. I have to admit I am scared to do replacement shakes as in the past I have gained more then I started off with I so confused and just don't know what too do
when I think about the gym getting all sweaty isn't my thing so I was thinking of going slow and doing yoga what do you think
I have my second appointment this week with the mwm clinic to see how much I have lost this month and see how I feel and just so concerned and want to have a healthy weight lose
do you have any suggestions

Walking is a great way to be active and burn some calories. Plan a few simple meals and schedule them for your day. Find things to read about healthy eating. Put yourself first and make being healthy your priority. Do a little more each day. You can do this.2

Hi, I’m in a similar situation as you, though I’m 57 and just started mfp 15 or so days ago. I don’t eat the right kinds of foods to keep my body healthy. I’m trying to get more vegetables and fruits. I did see a 1/2 lb loss this week. I too see a nutritionist. I weigh 249.7 lbs. I’ve sent you a friend request.0

My only real advice is to be kind to yourself. And know you are not alone.0

I am a little taller than you but started at the same weight, I also only cook for myself. There are lots of quick and convenient meals that you can make for yourself without resorting to under-eating, weight loss is mostly down to managing your food intake, you don't need to go to the gym to lose weight. Walking is adequate enough to get the heart rate up a little for health and there are a lot of yoga videos you can follow online without signing up to a gym even as a beginner.
I found some of the HASFIT seniors videos helpful when I started out as I was recovering from a back injury and couldn't do a lot. Some are just 10 mins long and don't require any equipment.
Some of the meals I make when I am short on time/low on motivation to meal prep:- Pan fried Chicken breast using the Maggi So Tender papers (no oil flavoured cooking papers) with frozen veg that's been steamed in the microwave (10 mins each side for the chicken, 3 mins in microwave for the veg)
- Turkey or Chicken Sausages (sometimes have Pork one but Poultry ones are leaner) with veg (Throw the sausages in the oven for 25 mins, veg as above)
- Ready Meal Curry with Steamed Rice (4-5 mins for curry/ 3 mins for rice)
- Soup & Roll
- Omelette with frozen mixed peppers, cheese & pepperoni (3 eggs whisked with a small handful of cheese using a fork, couple of mins in the pan before throwing in the peppers and pepperoni and flipping over to cook those through - all done and ready to serve in 5 mins)
Normally I meal prep something in slow cooker or that can be cooked later in the week so that I can freeze portions to just reheat with veg/rice/roast potatoes like:- Thai Green Curry
- Chicken or Beef Strogonoff
- Salmon Fishcakes
- Falafel
- Veggie Curry
- Meatballs

You need to understand that undereating will lead to a lot of medical issues that are just as (if not more) serious than the medical issues brought on by being overweight. Malnutrition for one, but that's the obvious one.
I have a friend who has lost over 100 pounds in the last four months for the same reason you present: She just had no appetite. That's clocking at more than double the recommended loss rate if you are severely obese and she is. She's been on many meds, including blood pressure meds for many years. During this loss, she ate healthy things and is not suffering from malnutrition, but because of her undereating and rapid weight loss, her doctors were unable to keep her medicines properly adjusted as the need for medicine to regulate things like her blood pressure were reduced with the weight loss. Her BP dropped dangerously low, her kidneys stopped functioning properly, and she ended up in the hospital with renal failure.
Now I know this is an extreme example, but watching it happen has driven home how VERY important it is to eat your calories, or come very close to them. It really doesn't matter if you don't feel like cooking, or eating does it? You're a grown up, and you have to see to your own health. Luckily you have 100% control over this.
Plan your meals. EAT your meals. Log your meals. It's very simple. If you genuinely can't stomach a lot of food for whatever reason, then you need to change the type of foods to more calorie-dense options. @tinkerbellang83 has some great advice, meal prep takes a little time commitment, but then you can spend a couple of hours prepping and freezing enough food to provide weeks worth of single serving healthy meals. If you can only manage one or two meals a day then pack them with full fat dairy, nuts, avocado, peanut butter, cook with olive oil, or how about some chocolate? There are far too many calorie-dense and healthy foods out there to be perplexed about how to get enough calories each day. God knows I spend a lot of time figuring out how to not eat too many of them The point is, there's no good excuse for not feeding yourself.
If you think your appetite is low because you may be developing an eating disorder or dropping into depression, I encourage you to seek professional help now rather than later.
As for the gym and working out, that's secondary to your nutritional health. If you're not eating enough, your body can't afford for you to go to the gym - it doesn't have the fuel it needs for you to add additional movement. Get your food in order, then worry about exercise. Anyway that's my 2 cents. Good luck to you!5 -
