Good job.
Have you talked to your doctor about a full nutrition plan? You can look at Diabetes.org and there is a lot of info.
Are you trying to get out and get a bit of exercise? That will help with weight loss which will help with blood sugar.3 -
Hi, yes I exercise everyday and it does help alot, but its still kind of a battle. Eating a balanced diet, im trying to get off the insulin for good0
-
You'll get there!
It's a lot to manage, but once good habits are created it will be effortless. It's hard in the beginning.1 -
Hopefully I will get there. Thanks for the advice0

If you stick to the balanced diet and exercise and manage to lose some weight, the possibility of getting off Insulin is real. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
It just takes time and patience. So don't give up because of an off day. Long term, it's worth it
ETA: provided you're not a type 1 diabetic, which requires insulin injections for survival because the body is incapable of producing its own4 -
Yes im type 2 so it is possible, thank u so much for the support.1

I urge you to research Dr Fung, and maybe get his book The Diabetes Code. It’s really eye opening and makes so much sense. He has a lot of good videos on YouTube too. He’s a diabetes doc with a different perspective on controlling diabetes and losing weight.18

no no and hell no. Fung is a quack who has has his pet theories utterly destroyed by real scientists who aren't trying to sell you something. He literally doesn't know what hes talking about.9 -

OP, many people successfully manage diabetes and lose weight via an appropriate diet program (and medication if deemed necessary). Don’t fall for Fung’s snake oil, he is a laughingstock amongst evidence-based researchers/scientists.

The book, Dr Bernstein's Diabetes Solution is a great book on lowering BG and insulin through diet, independent of weight loss. Works great.
Fung's books are also good for lowering BG and improving insulin resistance through low carb diets with fasting.
Weight loss, better sleep, reduced stress and exercise can als help with BG control.11 -
Exercise and a balanced diet works for me. Im not a big fan of dr fung's methods although there was some facts I picked up from him that made me understand my situation more clearly.4
