Now that I have developed gestational diabetes I am having to read the labels a bit more closely than before. It's shocking to see just how much sugar and glucides are in foods.
Unbelievable!!
Even the .5% milk has 10g in 1 cup.
I have to check my blood sugar 6 times a day (before meals and 1 hour after) and I am really seeing the effect of foods on my glucose levels. It's crazy!!

I had gest diabetes, it went away after I had my baby but a few years later I developed type 2, I know how you feel and its sad. Also watch things that say low fat or fat free because they have added extra sugar and carbs to make it taste good.

Funny you posted this because I just posted a rant about yogurt,

    Thanks!
I had it with my daughter as well and it went away. Either I wasn't being monitored as closely or it's a bit more severe this time because I'm on insulin now so hopefully it goes away again. Long family history of diabetes so my genes aren't that great I guess, lol
Yogurt is horrible!! I've read the label on every brand in the grocery store and Silhouette is the lowest (so that's what I buy).
Miracle Whip, I was going to be good and get the low calorie one .. until I read the label. Yes, more sugar in it than the regular one.
I tell ya .. October can't get here soon enough because it's making me go slightly insane!
