I'm 26, and looking to lose about 80 lbs. However, I am terrible at keeping myself motivated, and would appreciate some friends to help me out, and I could do the same for you!

My goal is 60 pounds, which will put me at slightly overweight. I am disabled and like to crochet, play computer games, and make rosaries. I have 2 chihuahuas and a black cat. I am happily married and a thankful mom. I am 51 yo, but taking "Lifetime Wellness" class at college, where I learned how to read food labels in the USA. A classmate recommended this site. Another good site is MyPlate.gov6

Hello ☺️ I’m 28 and currently weigh in at 263. I have always battled with my weight and my relationship with food. 3 years ago I lost 100 pounds and sadly enough ended up gaining it all back. Earlier this year I was back at it and lost 50 pounds but have no gained back 20. I am constantly struggling to stay motivated and would love to find some people in the same boat. We can all do it I know we can!!! I wish you all the best of luck ☺️ feel free to reach out to me if a pep talk is needed.8

You're not lacking or struggling with motivation. You're just misunderstanding it.
Motivation is what makes a change happen. It's impetus or the catalyst. Motivation is the difference between "I want to" and "I will". Motivation is what overcomes the inertia, it's a powerful short burst that gets things moving. But motivation is a finite resource, eventually after it's done it job of making the change happen it will run out.
One of the 'secrets' I attribute to my sustained success this time round (11 months and 40kg lost) is that I refused this time to do anything that required me to have 'motivation' and instead did things that came naturally.
Eating foods that I didn't love just because they were "health foods" required motivation so I just ate food I enjoyed in a calorie deficit - No motivation required
Going to the gym to exercise always required motivation so this time I found an activity I enjoy (cycling) to get exercise and since I love going for a ride I don't need motivation to do it.
Basically I tried something and if I enjoyed it I kept doing it. If it required 'motivation' I'd ditch it look for something else. So my approach to motivation was to avoid having to be motivated.
That said sometimes you need to make a change that you can't avoid. In those cases, when the motivation that got you started runs out you need something different to keep you going. You need decisiveness and determination. Once you've made a decision, a Real decision, that thing becomes non-negotiable and doesn't rely on motivation because there's no alternative.6 -
What do you all try/do? Count calories? Exercise? Weights? Cardio? Everything?0

One thing that has been the biggest struggle but also I am really thankful is that I am trying to figure out new ways to reward myself instead of food. During the past I would tell myself that oh I had a hard day at work so you deserve to this unhealthy food.6
