Met someone new....

Not really new (I've been friends with him for almost four years), but he recently told me that he wanted to be "more than friends". He is sweet, kind, attentive, and DEFINITELY patient. He knows the issues I've had in my past and is willing to wait for me and help me work through them. I wasn't looking for a relationship at all, but this one sort of caught me by surprise....and I must say, it's a wonderful surprise. It's nice to look forward to a nice conversation with someone who actually likes me for who I am...it's just nice to FEEL again.

    Awww! That's great! I totally agree @ knowing the person. You don't have to build up or fake up some rapport with the person.. They know a good bit about you and you aren't struggling to make "small talk". Definitely makes the relationship seem more natural, @least to me. :) Best of luck 2 you both! :)

    I agree that it's come so much easier since I built a friendship with this person before anything else happened....he knows the REAL me, not the dressed-to-impress, first-date-ready, fake version of me. He's seen me at my worst, so I KNOW he deserves me at my best.
