How Far Can You Run?

What is the furthest distance you have ever run without stopping?
One day when i was in the army, the commander had a wild hair up his *kitten* for some reason and made us run 10 miles that morning. We only ever ran 4 or 6 miles in that unit, and about 2 thirds of the soldiers did not make that distance. I was one of the ones who made it (barely), so 10 miles is the furthest i have ever run non stop.
I recently took up running (i guess close to a year now), and have worked my way up to 5 miles so far.
I am in awe of people that run ultra marathons, and even marathons & half marathons.

Did a half Marathon (13.1miles) Could have gone on, but the race (run) was over.4

26.2 miles is the farthest I've ever run.
I would like to try a longer distance someday, but so far each time I've hit 26.2 miles I've been very happy it was time to stop!8 -
I did a 16 mile training run once. I was working toward a marathon. An Achilles aggravation (not related to the running) made me abandon that particular marathon training. I haven't been motivated to run past a 1/2 marathon since.4

6.5 miles. For some reason I got the math wrong in my head, and wanted to make sure I did 10k. That was the day I learned why people run with running shirts.
I've been hiking with an ultra marathoner and trail runner, she's hard to keep up with!5 -
The longest so far is 10km (6 miles, I think?). Ive been at it for less than a year so I'm pleased with that. I've backed off since then but I intend to run a half marathon next fall (after a few big life events that don't allow for the time away from my family for now). I'm maintaining with 3-6km, 3-4 times a week right now since 20-60 minutes seems to be the most time I can find and I'm a slower runner.3

40 miles. My first ultra and took me about 9 hours.

I’m just starting out. In September I couldn’t even run 1 mile, I’ve worked my way up to 4! It’s not as impressive as people who have run much further distances but I’m very proud of it!19

1/2 marathon. Did two plus 4-5 training in 2018.
2019 I want to do a marathon.5 -
26.2 is my longest so far.4

IDK...probably however far our runs were in boot camp...I don't remember. I know the physical fitness test was 3 miles but I'm sure we ran further than that in boot camp. Not a runner though...if you see me running, you better move your *kitten* because some bad *kitten* is about to go down.7

I'm an ultramarathoner. So...pretty far3
-
3 miles lol. I am new to running.9

7 miles is my longest so far. I'm toward the end of a 5K to 10K program right now (I can run 10K but want to get faster), and am planning to try for a half-marathon distance next. I've been running for a little less than a year and a half.4

From under a mile in September to 4 miles in December: Plenty to be impressed. Well done.6 -
26.2 miles, but anymore I have a really nice 7.5 mile trail run and that is the longest I have any desire to do.3

26.2 is it. I'm prone to leg injuries when my run volume gets high, so this year I used a run/walk approach during training builds as well as on IM race day. No more open marathons for me.
I have a few friends who do some crazy trail runs up to 205 miles (The Tahoe 200!), but that's way beyond my interest and physical abilities.

Farthest I've run is 21.1 km (half-marathon) but I've signed up for a full marathon next October (seemed like a good idea at the time)

That's what I worry about. At one point a few months ago I was still thinking that a marathon was a "bucket list" thing I wanted to do. Then I considered the risk of an overuse injury. I made a personal choice to not push that hard. I'm running to be fit. I don't want to get sidelined by an injury. I know I can sustain the training volume I have now. So I changed my goal to a 1/2 marathon. I can do that, enjoy it, and hopefully avoid injury.

When I was a teenager, I think the furthest I ran was 15 miles. Now, I can run a little more than a mile nonstop and am working on running a 5k by the first of the year.5

18, i got distracted from my marathon running plan3
-
Last Annual Vol State..314 miles..a lot of walking and shuffling and barely moving6
-
27 miles, London marathon4

I've done a marathon, but I'm a dedicated cyclist now and no longer running regularly. I could probably still do a 10k, though.2

A lot of good running going on here.
Forgot to mention that when i did that 10 mile run in the army, that was back in the 1980's, and i was in my early 30's.
I'm 61 now, and when i started running about a year ago, i could only run for about 30 seconds without stopping. It took me almost a year to get to 5 miles at a snail's pace. In fact i think a snail passed me one time at the park...
But in my defense, it looked like a really fast snail.4 -
I've run 4 marathons so far. My longest run was 26.59 miles (lots of weaving around slower runners and run/walkers). I'd like to move on to ultras, but I fall enough on flat trails, I'd probably kill myself trying to run a real mountain trail.4
-
13.79 miles, in either a poorly measured half marathon or a race where Runkeeper was really inaccurate.2

You're smarter than I was, lol. I found that 5 runs/week at marathon volume was very tough on my legs as the long run distances increased. Even with a bike day and a rest day each week, I struggled to stay healthy when marathon training. It became a job I didn't enjoy.
In contrast, I enjoyed doing the run volume during an Ironman build, since I only ran 3 days/week and cross trained more on the bike and swimming. My weekly long runs were roughly the same distance, but I wasn't run training two days in a row, except for transition runs off the bike. Of course, my marathon run during the Ironman race was at a slower pace, but that's part of the game.2 -
26.2 miles (or a little more since I didn't hit the tangents perfectly).
Looks like I may be running 100k next December. Not sure how I feel about that.3 -

The longest I've run without stopping isn't every long. Maybe only 5 km.
The longest distance I've run is 10 km -- two events and two training runs.
I'm trying to train for a half marathon.
Oh ... I only started running a year ago at the age of 50. But I'm a long distance cyclist.
