Hi.

I am a former swimmer and former semi-professional rugby player. During that time I used to hit the gym as part of my sports training and was about 90kg @ aprox 15 bf% and 170cm (5ft7in) tall. However when stopped (about 7 years ago due to injury) gained 20kg (44lbs) on the first year and 40kg (88lbs) more in the next years till this summer. I tried several times to start going to the gym and do several other sports but always dropped eventually, so my only exercise this years was the occasional soccer match (aprox weekly), cycling to work, occasional snowboard during winter and occasional hike or summer kayaking. I am member of myfitnesspal for long time, trying to use it several times but also always dropped it sooner or later.

Currently I'm 29 yo, 125kg (275lbs), aprox 35% bf (meas by bioelectrical impedance). This weight is huge for my height (170cm) but I was suprised with the amount of lean mass still and bf% upon measurement (may it be very imprecise???).

Since last June I lost aprox 20kg and 5% bf by doing 3x week cardio, 3x week stronglifts 5x5 (SL5x5) strenght program and getting my nutrition checked. This was the longest time I remained in a plan in the last years and consistently used MFP (my mentality also changed lately due to change in life and job so I think this time will be long lasting).

ATM my chest, shoulders, arms and mainly upper and mid back are getting quite defined (not shredded ofc with my bf% but the muscle contours are quite visible). My fat looks like it is accumulated mainly around my midsection (stomach, hips, "love handles" and upper tighs).

I hope I can continue to loose weight and get fit again. B)
