Please anyone add me as I'm alone in the world. My wife does slimming world but as I have various food intollerances I'm limited on what I can eat. Other than my wife and 2 boys I have no friends. The last I saw of my friends was near 13 years ago. I've tried MFP a few times over last couple of years bit always dropped back to old ways through boredom mostly and lack of support. So anyone willing to be the boot my butt is waiting to be kicked.

Hi Pauly 😊 I have very few friends myself lol You got this battle! Try introducing your family to more healthier recipes. Portion control is important. My enemy is soda pop. Hehe

Try looking for local events you and the family can attend. I have very few friends also, outside of my hubby and kids. I am doing this for me, but I do try cooking healthy meals for the whole family. You've got this!

Hi ! Your post resonates with me. I too have an extreme amount of food intolerances. I am not super active logging, but I don't mind sharing food ideas with you. Add me if you like

I have cut down on my "friends" as much as possible - they always know better, (i.e. you MUST try this new diet! You will lose 80 kg in a few months, maybe weeks!) and: "why don't you have a few beers with us?" or: "ohhhh, I baked this cake just for you! You must try a slice! The list goes on and on. Fewer so called "friends", fewer problems, less to worry about I say. Helps me to stick to a much healthier meal plan.

I sent you a friend request. If you skip logging a lot of days without communicating an on vacation message or something like that you may get pared. I like sharing struggles and successes with folks sharing my experience

Hows this a bad thing? Those ppl should be your only motivation and no one else.

How is it a bad thing to have no friends outside of family? :/ I agree no one should rely on others for "motivation", but to be friendless isn't a good thing.

Hhmmmmmmmmmm ONLINE friends???? We are talking about him looking for ONLINE friends lol

While his post is about seeking "friends" here, he says, "I'm alone in the world", outside of his wife & kids he has no friends (doubt his kids hang out on MFP), and he hasn't seen any friends for 13 years. OP can correct me if I've taken this the wrong way, but it sounds like he's lacking more than just online support, and it just made your comment feel glib & ill-advised to me.

OP, I've found support from like-minded friends on here to be helpful, but I think a better way to go about it is by keeping an eye out for people who are active and seem to share common interests & goals and reaching out to them personally as opposed to broad requests to "add me" ;) Wish you well. :)

I think coming back onto MFP for support is wonderful. I do think interactions with other adults in person are highly important as well. Do you attend a gym?

I found making alone time for a Zumba class on the weekend for an hour was helpful. I had interactions with others’ there to have fun, while getting exercise.

Best of luck to you and your journey!
