edited October 1 in Health and Weight Loss
Thursday night i went out and did some drinking, Friday i woke up and weighed myself like i do every other morning and the scale was down to 228.6 i was thrilled. I ate scrambled eggs and 2 slices of bacon and a piece of toast for breakfast, for lunch i had a 1/2 cup of leftover chicken noodle casserole (like tuna noodle casserole), and then for dinner i had a grilled cheese and some tomato soup. Not the healthiest choices but thats what i had in the fridge until payday. I went to bed and woke up this morning and headed to the basement to weigh myself fully knowing that the scale was going to go up somewhat due to not being so dehydrated but the scale said 232.6 this morning. I was so dissappointed. what gives?

those meal choices are really high in sodium...maybe thats why?
  • Same thing happened to me last weekend. Your body weight fluctuates so much with water weight.
  • It is probably water weight! Your body would hang on to the water to flush out all the sugar in the alcohol.
It is frustrating. I had it happen once too. Now, I only weigh myself once a week. No matter what! It frustrates me too much to see daily lol

Sodium is what I would guess. Drink lots of water.

Alcohol has a dehydrating effect on the body....so you probably lost some water weight on that initial weigh in!
  • Things change in a hurry i know. Drinks can add to weight too........ not that we should not have some. I bet that is what it was..

drinking dehyradtes you, big time. I am ALWAYS a few pounds less the next morning and it wouldn't have mattered if you ate nothing the next day, as soon as you got the alcohol out of your system and rehydrated the "pounds" would have come back. Alcolhol will give you some fits for the next few days so always choose wisely before you drink. I only do it a few times a year.
