Net calories and exercise.

My goal for weight loss is to take in 1200 calories daily. Does this mean at the end of the day I need to have a net amount of 1200? If I eat 1200 and burn 500 through exercise should I eat another 500 to prevent myself from entering into starvation mode? I know I need my calorie expenditure to be greater than my calorie intake, but could this be preventing me from losing weight?

eat your 1200 a day at least then your allowed to eat back half of your workout calories. I have been told to do it like this from numerous dieticians so your body doesn't go into starvation mode and you lose the weight.0

Yep! The goal they give you should be your net calories each day. Go under tools and calculate your BMR...that is the number of calories you should eat everyday to ensure your body doesn't go into starvation mode. Then if that is higher than you goal calories you will just have exercise enough each day/week to keep your average net calories to 1200.0

First, unless you are short you should not be trying for 1200 calories. You don't have a lot of weight to lose so your weekly goal should be 0.5 to 1 lb a week.
Second, yes, in order to maintain the recommended calorie deficit you should eat your exercise calories.0
