Belly Button Ring Question

Was not sure where to post this. But anyways I have my belly button pierced and I was thinking about taking it out and letting it close up and then after I lose all my weight and have a baby to get it redone if I still want it done.
But I don't know if 2-3 years and long enough to give it time to heal before getting it redone.
Has anyone ever took one out and let it grow up and got another one done? And if so how did it turn out and how long did you have it out before you go it redone.
When I got my done the piercer pierced it the wrong way and its a little jacked up. So any input would help.
Thanks,
Amanda

Any piercing will close up in a few weeks., you should be fine. You might have a small scar but your new piercing could hide it.0

Yes 2-3 years is plenty of time. Six months would likely suffice. I had my helix repierced after a week. It had been migrating out.0

you will have scar tissue that might make it a little tender to have redone, but it will be all good shortly after. One of my doctors when I was pregnant with my 1st said if I wanted, I could thread fishing string through to keep the hole open for after I had her.0

I never had it redone but I took mine out May of 2010 and tried to put it back in July 2011. It had like the piece of skin grown over like your ears do but I barely had to push and got in back in. So maybe every 6 months attempt to push a ring through so it stays open and then you wont have to redo it through scar tissue.0

Yeah, mine doesn't heal. I took it out while pregnant with my first child. 3 years later after my SECOND child I could still get one back in. I took it out again while pregnant with my 3rd child. It's been a year now, I bet I could put one back in....0

I took mine out when I was 3 months pregnant and the hole closed up with in days ( had the piercing almost 2 years). I had it redone a few months after I had my baby and I had no problems and you can't see any scar tissue from my first piercing.0

I just put mine back in after taking it out while pregnant with my 3rd child 6 years ago. I had to work it through and it feels like it did (a bit tender) when I first had it done 9 years ago.0

I've had friends use the special belly button jewelry when they were pregnant and it worked great for them. I had to remove mine @ 3 months preggers because I went into the hospital for a surgical procedure and the hole had closed up by the time I was released I would have used the special jewelry if that hadn't happened.0 -
I got mine pierced 8 years ago. Took it out 2 years ago. Put it back in last week without any problem. So it sounds like it is dependent on the person if the hole will heal or not.0
