    While lifting has nothing to do with fat loss, you should still do some strength training to help preserve muscle mass while losing weight.

    Lifting heavy has nothing to do with losing fat. Eating fewer calories has to do with losing fat.

    I was going off a 365lbs lift, and I know you don’t weigh 263. ;) h.

    Yeah. You are right and I was wrong. I was thinking in the 320 range, and you are ~110-120. I'm in the 200-210 range so yeah, you me and some plates is correct.

    Sorry @quiksylver296 for remembering wrong.

    Ooh, seriously impressed, had you still around the 220 range. 102 for me.
    I live in hope that one day you will do a before and after, or just an after.

    Just a quick addition:

    Yes, heavy lifting will burn fat, but it’s correct what the other posters have said, you’re not going to see weight loss the way you expect. The more muscle you add, the higher your weight will go because you’re going to build muscle. Muscle needs lots of water and protein, so be sure to be getting enough.

    Having said, once you GET the muscle up, it will burn more calories at rest. However you can’t track or account for those calories, so it’s important to remember that.

    I posted a while back about my own struggle with weight loss vs fat loss using heavy weight. Lifted heavy for a month, scale didn’t budge. Decided to change my macros for lower carbs and higher protein and within a week the scale was moving again.

    To sum it all up: more muscle means higher metabolism, but won’t “melt lbs” like many imply. It just helps your metabolism stay hotter for longer. But again, GET ENOUGH PROTEIN.
