So I had some green giant zucchini spirals in my freezer. I cooked them like the bag said and when I was scanning the barcode I realized that on the bag it said the bag had 3 cups per serving... ummm when I got done cooking them there was no way that was 3 cups of zucchini noodles in the whole bag.
Am I missing something 🤷🏻‍♀️

The water they exude while cooking :( Best to go with the raw weight rather than the volume.

The 3 cups would be before they are cooked. They lose water and wilt a bit, so they aren't as full. As Esther said, if there is a weight on the pack, it's best to weigh the amount before cooking it. It's just more accurate that way (although zucchini isn't high calorie).

I thought the same thing. No way those packages serve 3 people!

I was just thinking, I use either turnip or butternut squash spirals (I buy them fresh at my supermarket) and I don't boil them. I generally roast them or throw them in a stir-fry—i.e. saute them. It's possible that they'll wilt less that way. Or not; zucchini is mostly water.

Another for pre-cooked rather than post cooked but thought I would let you know that I much prefer them sauteed with a bit of oil and pepper than boiled.

I actually used the microphone option that was on the bag then drained the water
