Sitting all day. UGHH!

So, I sit on my butt at work. I unfortunately do not have much of a way around that cause I have to be at my desk answering emails/phones. Problem is, I get antsy and my legs and back have been getting really sore lately. I ride my bike to/from work and walk on my lunch break and my two rest periods, but I need something to help me deal with this sitting.

Anyone have any ideas of stretches or anything that helps you to feel more comfortable sitting all day?

replace your desk chair with an exercise ball. Helps improve your posture and will allow you to move at your desk more easily.

You may have to check and see if your office allows this, but I've heard that sitting on a stability ball helps to strengthen you and to lessen back pain after your back starts to get stronger. Plus, you can do crunches on it when you feel like it!

This is a great stretch for people that sit all day. It helps with hip mobility immensely.

Can you stand while you are on the phone?
  • I can stand when on the phone and do sometimes but then I am stooping down to use the computer. Can't really stand when I am with guests as they would likely take offense. :)
