Feet cramping

I can ski (Nordic) all day on the flat, or on rolling hills. I've done a few 4 and 5 hour days this week, and felt great.

Yesterday I skied 3 miles up Amabilis Mountain, it took an hour and felt good. The descent was 13 minutes and my feet hurt halfway down. This happens every time I do a long and twisty descent.

I'm wondering if this is something I should try to address with technique (probably means hiring a coach for a day), if my boots aren't right for me, or if this is just the way it is?

I would love to know the answer to this. I ski every year and am always in pain. My feet hurt so bad, I look forward to the chair lift ride back up! I will say it’s gotten more manageable since I lost weight.

This definitely sounds like a losing weight will help problem, but I skied 20 miles a few days ago, with no discomfort. I'm doing free heel, so I'm moving my feet and shifting my weight constantly most of the time except on descents.

Your feet hurt ... or your feet cramped?
