Hey girls. I was getting on my workout clothes and I started cramping really bad. How do you get over TOM cramps, medicine not included? lol

Working out actually helps... It's hard when you are tired but it works.

    LOL XD
When I was smaller, my mom had a hysterictomy and since then, she doesnt have periods lol. And she was in her 30s then. I kind of do look forward to the retirement age. No working, no worrying, no periods lol.

It's pretty impossible to work out when it hurts so bad, all your energy is going into stopping yourself from crying. :(

That's a good idea. I should invest in one of those! They helped me a lot when I lived with my mom and she had one.

My cramps are a 12-24 hour thing. I take a rest day with a heating pad and some pain reliever.

Yup, heating pads, yoga moves, stay super hydrated and light exercise. I know typically we want to curl up and watch a movie, but "moving it around" totally helps. I typically do a Zumba on that day, something light. OR I just put on my three favorite songs and DANCE DANE DANCE. Something fun and different and rockin out and beltn out lyrics totally helps me forget I have cramps and gets those endorphins moving! :) 4 songs at 4-5 minutes each is about 20 minutes. Hey, it's better than nothing! :)

I also like doing body soaks if they are really bad! Take one cup of sea salt and one cup of baking soda and add it to warm water. Not only will it relax your muscles, but also your mind! :)

Drinking Mint tea is good too, not to mention adding cinnamon to your diet. Cinnamon is an anti-inflammatory and is known to have antispasmodic properties.

Oh and Electrolytes! :) I drink a coconut water and that seems to help too! :) Good luck! Let me know if any of these work for you!

I'm 51 and I had my last period at 49, It's so funny because I went thru all these emotional stages, like I would be out dinning with my Husband and I would have a hot flash and would start to sweat, and I thought everyone around me would know I'm not having my periods anymore, lol But now that it's all over and done with, I never think about it, It's like a natural thing, when it's really over, your ready for it to be over, but not until then.. does that make any sense??

They have those heat patches for menstrual cramps. They work good, can be worn under clothes and can last bout 6 hours.

I'm ready for it to be over, but the bod is not cooperating. I wish that I could resolve the symptoms with exercise, but due to my PCOS, I bleed really heavy at first. For some of us, it really is best to lay low for a day or two.
