I hate wearing shoes when I workout at home but my feet get sore. I workout on carpet but still hurt after. Thoughts, suggestions?

I hate wearing shoes at home! Are you starting something new or doing the workouts longer? If so, you probably just need to build up to the new activity level and let your feet adjust. Try some stretching and heel/toe raises.

I never wear shoes unless I go outside. Do wear shoes at home? The more you go barefoot the stronger your feet will get.

Can we talk boots?? I took a before picture of me trying to zip up a really cute pair of boots. Once my legs are slimmer I'm hoping there will be an "after" pick of my legs, where I can zip the boots up, hehehe.

Do you wear shoes around the house otherwise? Do your feet get sore in socks or barefoot when you aren't working out? What type of workout? Some workouts will put your feet under more stress, and therefore something with an arch support will help with that.

What kind of workouts are you doing on carpet? And when you say sore, do you mean the bottoms from rubbing on carpet, or the whole feet?

Depending on what the problem is, would a padded surface work: Something like a yoga mat, or the interlocking foam floor squares? (One random example at Amazon: https://www.amazon.com/Stalwart-Floor-Tiles-Interlocking-Padding/dp/B071WMHWJM), or horse-stall mats like https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/4-ft-x-6-ft-x-3-4-in-thick-rubber-stall-mat ?)

My home is a shoes off zone. My feet don't hurt normally. They only hurt after working out. I have been doing walk away the pounds dvds. Mats are a great suggestion, thank you.

Alternatively, if a padded surface doesn't work out, you could have a pair of indoor only shoes to work out in.

I generally am shoeless at home. If I am just walking laps inside the house listening to podcasts I am barefoot or have slippers on.

But, I do wear athletic shoes when I do the Walk Away the Pounds videos. I feel that I need the lateral support that the shoes offer for multi-directional movement in the videos.

If I can't work out in barefoot, or socks, or socks with tread, I wear these:

Do you think those would work as water shoes? Sometimes you go hiking and have to cross through a creek. People carry a second pair of shoes so they don't get chilled from wet feet all day. Those look very light weight which is a big plus.

I think they'd soak it all in. Not like regular water shoes. They are great on long flights!
