    I'd like to lose weight and just get healthy in general.

    Put your stats into MFP for a reasonable weight loss per week. Most people go for 1-2 pounds depending on how much you have to lose.

    Eat the calorie goal that MFP gives, eat back some of your exercise calories. (if you can exercise)

    Log consistently and honestly. If you have a bad day log it and move on, don't beat yourself up about it.

    Be patient weight goes up and down. I use a trending app called Libra (Android) to track my daily weight and it evens out the fluctuations. Stops me getting disheartened when my weight goes up now and again.

    Trust the process. If you eat less than you burn you will lose weight.

    Don't give up.
