Baby #3?

Hey all! Hope everyone had a great holiday season....

We currently have 2 girls (3.5 and 1.5 - 23 months between) and a 9 month old German Shepherd and I'm getting baby fever. Those with 3 little ones, did you feel like going from 2 to 3 was complete and utter chaos? We're playing man-on-man now, but how much of a change is it going to a zone defense?

Thanks!

Maybe you should just take up coaching football or some sort of sports-that is some good defence terminology there.

    1 kid - zone defense
2 kids - man to man defense
    3 kids - prevent defense

    * nobody has ever won strictly playing prevent defense.

Isn't prevent defence just called "contraception"?

It's okay, I'll sacrifice most any thread for the benefit of the Chicago Bears.

Oh and OP, I have 2 kids that I love more than I ever knew was possible... That said, there is not enough money in the world to make me want a third. No. Thank. You. But to each their own.

I have friends who went from 2 to 3 this past year (third was an oops) and said it was considerably more easy than they anticipated. The only thing she is finding difficult is when she has to go anywhere with all three, alone. They’ve started implementing a “divide and conquer” method that works for them. I think if you are financially able to have another, and you feel you have more room in your heart to give, then why not?

It gets better the difference between 5 and 6 is hardly noticeable, then adding 8, 9 & 10, your oldest actually become a help (most of the time).

I have three. The third was a complete shock. It was very difficult at first. He's almost four and my oldest is 13. I can't imagine life without him. I would definately do it again. Its rough at first being out numbered, but oh so worth it.

You can have the NFC North for once. We'll be back next year. I do have to say it was always nice when Cutler got his colors confused and threw to Green and Gold instead of Blue and Orange. Maybe Trubisky will make similar mistakes!

I have 2 siblings so there were 3 of us, i am still not sure how my parents handled 3 of us kids at once. I'm 27 now and no kids myself but nieces and nephews who are little and crazy and as much as I love them I am very happy they get to go home lol. I think its one of those day to day things and learn on the fly. As for us 3 we turned out alright!

I have three daughters who are adults now. The first two are 18 months apart and the second and third are 3 1/2 years apart - so three children in 5 years. It was pretty insane, particularly given that both parents worked outside the home. When the number of children exceeds the number of parents the work involved expands exponentially. Nonetheless, I would not change a thing!! However, if I had it to do over again - well, things would have been different - LOL! My parents raised 6 of us - 3 girls and 3 boys - I don't know how they did it.

Don't overthink it so much. Just do it if you want to, or accept it if the third comes along as a mistake. We have two planned and one unplanned, and we're still alive today. First two grown up and we're getting used to the grandparent phase now!!

well the cost of having a kid today is $250,000 up til they’re 18, not including college, and assuming u don’t spoil it too much, if that figures into your calculations at all.

for comparison you could get a puppy and your lifetime expense would be about $25,000.

Plus a puppy is always happy to see you, loves your cooking, and you never destroy it’s life by cutting the crust off pb&j when suddenly it wants the crusts.

I have four. Personally, I found going from 1 to 2 much more difficult than going from 2 to 3, but that may largely have been because my second was the variety of baby that screamed at least 8 hours a day no matter what I did while the third may have been one of the happiest babies ever put on the face of the earth. :joy:

In my opinion there is 1 and there is more than 1. That's where your big differentiator lies. Since you already have more than 1, adding an additional is not that much more. We found out our 16yr old niece had had a baby 1 month after our second and knew she wouldn't be able to raise it. At that point we were like, "What's one more?" Of course he grew up to be the one that is turning my hair prematurely grey. :p

My third baby was our screamer so that's one reason that life with three became so much harder. At the same time, she brought much joy.

Our three sons were over time 15 years)
    #1 1969 we were young 21/19
    #2 waited five years 1974
#3 waited ten years to have a girl, But we had son #3

Pros and Cons on both side. Whatever you choose will be your future for life.

Didn't look like he was making "similar mistakes" this season... But I do appreciate your optimism. LOL.

My screaming second is now 13 and delightful (or delightfully weird, at least), while the easy, happy third baby is 12 and made of drama.

My puppy had over $15,000 in vet bills and he isn’t even two years old yet. Puppy’s aren’t always cheap either, and they are family members too....

Keep in mind that much of the world is designed for families of four. Dinette sets come with a table and four chairs. Sets of dishes include service for four. Hotel rooms and cruise ship cabins sleep four comfortably. Adding a third child means somebody will always be stuck with the middle seat in the back of the car.

But I have no regrets about our "bonus baby." Going from two to three was a much easier transition than one to two. Of course we were more experienced parents by then, which may have helped. And don't be surprised if you have another girl. Sure the odds may be 50/50...but most people I know who had two kids of the same sex (myself included) ended up with three of a kind.
