I feel like a stranger in my own skin!

Greetings!
I’m 29 years old, 212 pounds and my weight is almost the highest it has ever been. My blood pressure is abnormally high for my age. I feel gross, sluggish, and it’s time to make a change. I have tried to lose the weight so many times. I always do really well for a while and then relapse into old habits. This time it’s personal. I desperately want to have a child, and I am afraid that my weight might be a factor in keeping me from achieving this dream. Something has got to give! I’ve never truly lost until I have given up on trying to improve myself entirely. Here’s to a happy and healthy new year! Wish me luck!

Ach - I love how similar you sound to me, I'm 216lb and looking to lose around 50lb. 2019 is the year you can do it! This is a great platform to do so, you just have to be honest and accurate with your logging and it'll soon become the norm to weigh everything. I was on here in 2014 and lost around 30lb without too many tears.
Good luck x1 -
You can do this! I have been where you are. Don't look at this as a temporary diet. Look at this as lifestyle changes. Bad days will happen, just as the good days will. Good luck! Use this community as much as you can/need. Happy new year0

I can relate whole heartedly to your thoughts and feelings. I am 32 and 270 lbs. For over a year my husband and I had been trying to get pregnant. In September we were blessed to have a positive pregnancy test and we were on cloud 9!! Everything was going great, until our first ultrasound at 10 weeks. The baby didn’t have a heartbeat. No rhyme or reason. No signs or symptoms to tell me there was a problem. My doctor of course told me it wasn’t my fault blah blah blah. But a part of me was convinced that maybe it was my body and weight. Needless to say.... here we are back at the drawing board. This experience has urged to to become healthy for myself and my future family. You’re not alone! Good luck with your journey!2

Welcome
Often when people have to keep starting over, it's because they pick an aggressive plan and try to do too much all at once. Do a gut check and consider if this might be you and a more moderate approach might be better.

You can do this, good luck!0 -
I think you can see that many people can relate. Slow and stead wins the race... it's a JOURNEY and it will not be a fast one. Log all your food... so you can SEE just how much you eat or how much sugar there is in the things you at. SUGAR really IS THE ENEMY. I promise, cut out the crap sugar...and you will lose weight, gain energy and feel so much better. I'm just getting back to this... goal tools 40 lbs to start with. Come along.. LET's DO THIS! Day by day... it is out choice hour by hour... What will you chose today?
