I started new fasting 16 hours only eat 8.... only thing you can have during intermittent fasting is water, unsweetened tea or black coffee. I workout in mornings before work and thought I was going to die before lunch.1

I used to attempt fasting a lot, even went as long as 22 days. Its a mental game for sure. Things that helped me get through it:
1. Read fasting info. It helps to know what your body is going through
2. Smell other people’s foods. It sounds weird but it helps. Just get in there, smells are free
3. Chug water
4. Loathe self
5. Avoid tv- everything is about food.
Also 5. Watch cooking shows like an addict.
6. Keep a journal of the foods you’ll eat afterwards
7. Draw pictures of juicy steaks with butter melting on top
8. Slap face
9. Remind yourself of all the benefits
10. Drive to Taco Bell, order two chicken baja chalupas with no tomatoes, vow to resume fasting tomorrow
11. Repeat steps 1-10 ad nauseum
12. Give up fasting for good7 -
I once fasted for 5 days. I pretended I was sick, stayed in bed and took gravol to sleep1

The intermittent fasting is what I do naturally. I never want to eat breakfast and then am so busy at work, or just get interrupted too often to eat and enjoy it.
No help at all I realize, but what I can say is if you can get past the intermittent hunger, it makes me appreciate my meals a lot more1 -

I do the 8:16 fasting method. I fast for about 8 hours then I have a 16 hour eating window. It's pretty sweet.3

My 1st 16 hour fast ends in 37 minutes.2

Are you still alive?
We all fast when we sleep up until 'break fast'. Spread it out slower, so if you eat breakfast at 8, push it to 9 and so on. I was doing 16:8 for years, didn't know there was a name for it till I came to MFP. The more you know.2 -

I have been doing it before it was a thing. It comes natural to me so I don't know what to tell you.
Just a suggestion. Continue to try it and see if you like it but if not, intermittent fasting isn't for you and that's perfectly fine. Yes there are benefits but its not a cure all as some people advertise it as, and if you struggle to do it and hate every minute of it, that's no way to live.1
