Dried beans/peas as a snack

Anyone have any brands they love? As much as I love almonds and other kinds of nuts, sometimes it’s nice to switch it up. Ideally, I’d like pre-portioned packs so I can throw them in my car, in my purse and in my gym bag (I see they sell them on Amazon, but they’re kind of pricey). But I’ve also seen them at Trader Joe’s in a bigger bag. Thanks :)

I'm eating The Good Bean's roasted chickpeas as I type this. Not pre-portioned, but a scale and a few baggies take care of that...

These are flavored: smoky chili and lime. They've got a few other varieties. Off the top of my head, lightly salted, hummus, and something with lemongrass.

I'm going to try making my own. seems easy enough to dump a pile of cooked beans on a cookie sheet, season them with whatever, and roast them for a while. FIgure the worst that happens is I'm out $2 for a can of chickpeas.

Enlightened has a line of broad bean crisps (Bada Bean Snacks). An entire bag is about 300 calories, has 15g fiber, and 21g protein. They are very tasty and crunchy - their sriracha flavor is my favorite.

I like Plentils -- I don't have any in the house at the moment -- I think the ones I had that I liked were plain or sea salt flavored. They are formed into chips. There's a different brand I like where it looks more like they've roasted and dried the beans in more or less their natural state (with spices for flavor), but I just buy them when I happen to see the and recognize the picture on the bag -- can't remember the brand name, so it's not much help. Sorry.

This is what I thought when I read the title, and I couldn't imagine why somebody would want to munch on a bag of dried beans. Then I had to open the thread because...curiosity.

@amy19355 I'd rather make from scratch as well - let us know how you do this and how it came out!

I get Enlightened Crispy Broad Bean 100-calorie packs by the case from Costco or Amazon, and pick up 200-calorie packs of Seapoint Farms Dry Roasted Edamame (in wasabi or salted) at a local store. The Enlightened ones have 7g protein per bag, the soybeans I think a little over twice that.

I see that Amazon also has Saffron Road Crunchy Chickpeas in individual packs by the case, too. Those are also tasty, 7g protein, not sure of the calories but I think somewhere in that ballpark.

The Trader Joe's ones are good; I liked the lightly salted ones. I also like Harvest Crisps brand; they have a ton of flavor variety. The Caesar ones are great, as are their lightly salted ones; I haven't gotten to try other flavors yet.

I like the Biena roasted chickpeas in the ranch flavor. I would like to find some low-sodium options however because most of the roasted legume options, even though the sodium count on the label is not that high, taste way too salty to me.

I just baked up some chickpeas a couple of nights ago. I found a "crunchy" baked recipe. They were pretty good. I seasoned them two ways: chipotle chili powder, cayenne, and oregeno, and salt, and the other was curry and salt. I think I prefer wasabi peas. Or popcorn, though that's not so handy when out and about, and not so great for nutrition.
