Hi everyone. I'm a "virgin" poster. Would always read everyone else but kinda shy about my business. It's not that I have a ton of
weight to lose (those famous last 10 pounds) but it seems food slips into my mouth and I think "oh, it's just a little bit, it wont hurt" .
This charting only 1 day made me realize why I'm having such trouble with keeping my weight. I hope that it will keep me motivaed
over the weeks to come to be honest and keep writing when I'm less than perfect.

I was surprised too when I realized how much I was actually eating with the charting. Good luck to us both! :)

There are tons of supportive people & groups on MFP. I got super lucky and found an awesome group on my very first day. Here's a link to the "One-Week Challenge for Mini-Goals".

As a newbie, this group has been super for me. Everyone sets their own goals and just does a daily check in. Your week is whatever works for you (mine is Mon-Sun) but you can jump in any time.

Also I would suggest getting a food scale if you haven't already. They are so awesome for keeping your portion sizes in check! I used to eyeball everything, and think, "that's probably not too much". Man was I OFF! Weighing/measuring my food has made a HUGE impact on my ability to stay within my goal ranges. We use real butter in my house for pretty much everything, and I have learned that 1/2 a tablespoon is enough to cover 2 pieces of toast (not that I'm eating 2 pieces every day, but I could plan for it if I wanted to.)

That's another amazing thing about MFP: I can still choose to eat whatever I want, but I log it honestly, analyze the numbers and the consequences, and the next time around, it is SOOOO easy to make a healthier decision. I've only been here for 4 weeks, and it feels like this site and the wonderfully supportive people here have already changed my life for the better.
