If anyone wants, please look at my diary and offer any tips that you might have. I exercised a lot more than usual this week too. I guess it's back to the question of how many calories should I eat per day. TIA.

Are you not logging your exercise? It seems like you aren't. It's hard to tell what might be the issue when you can't really see how much you're actually eating.
Are your net calories staying above 1200?

Well, you're going over most days this week... are you keeping track of sodium? How about measuring portions? You're already going over, so if you're not logging properly, you might be going over higher than you think?

First thing that caught my eye was all the negative red numbers in your diary, you have been going over your calories almost everyday.. That could be why you gained a 1.5 pounds... Stay under and yo will lose weight, go over and you will gain weight. But thats my opinion
  • ooops my bad 1.2 pounds not 1.5 like i said lol but also it could be your scale giving wrong readings too

Out of the last 14 days, you ate more than your calorie allotment 11 of those days. This is the most likely culprit.

Also, are you weighing and measuring all of your food? Is your calorie burn for your exercise an estimation based off of MFP or is it based off of a HRM? If your calories in or your calories burned are not accurate, it is easy to gain when you think you are doing what you are supposed to.
  • Yes you are going over a bit but all I could suggest is to be more careful how you're measuring your food. I just bought a food scale today because I've had similar issues trying to eyeball my food portions and I think I'm eating more than I think I am. Otherwise, you should make sure to track your sodium, and drink plenty of water.

The only other thing you could do would be to change your ratios to 50 percent protein, 25 percent carbs, and 25 percent fat.

If you want a bit more guidance you could try another website that I like called gymamerica.com. It provides meal and workout plans. You do have to pay for it but it's been well worth it for me.

    Good luck.

Hello - it is just not the amount of calories consumed but also the portions at any one time, the type of food (ex: simple, processed sugary carbs vs low processed, fiber rich, whole grain) and adhering to the USDA food group recommendations. For me, I work out daily with good duration and intensity, and it is at least 80% of what I ingest that matters most for me to remain lean. Eat like a horse (graze) and not like a bear (hoard and store)!
