Trying to become healthy and avoid Type 2 Diabetes

I've been a member of MFP for a long time but never was consistent. I find this app to be very useful if used. I'm looking for people that are struggling with weight loss like myself but is ready for a change in the right direction. I only have 2 friends on this app and looking for more to share my journey and for motivation and I'm looking to do the same in return. I need to lose a total of 60lbs to be in my normal range. My family have a history of diabetes (type 2 thankfully) and I am trying to avoid that. I have four young men that I want to be around to see grow up and a husband who loves me through it all. Looking to make some friends.

My sugars were high too. I was considered diabetic on my last blood test (6.5 A1C). It scared me.
Losing weight to control or reverse type 2 diabetes does work. There is a study just released that proves it https://directclinicaltrial.org.uk/
I tried their diet for a 2 weeks and lost 10 lbs. After that I started adjusting my caloric intake to around 1450 calories per day and have lost a total of 26 lbs. in just under 12 weeks with only walking as my exercise (60 minutes a day).
The biggest thing to do is reduce your carb intake to 150g per day or less. My A1C after 3 months is down to 5.4 (normal).1
