There are literally hundreds of combos, it depends on the flavour of the protein powder you bought.
My favourite combo is:
1 scoop Vanilla Icecream Whey (I use ON 100% Whey)
300mls of water and ice
2 teaspoon Natures way greens with wild reds+ powder (tastes like strawberry, full of vitamins and probiotic)
150-250g Frozen strawberries or other berries
1 tablespoon Chia seeds
a shake of cinnamon
it's so thick you need a spoon to eat it!2 -
I mix my cheap Body Fortress powder with kefir, which is fermented milk.
I've occasionally had ON whey powder which mixes quite well with water.
Look around here and find how to mix your whey protein with cheesecake.2 -
I don't like mine with water, it tastes odd to me. I'm lactose intolerant, but whey doesn't bother me.
I usually drink it in whole milk. With lactose enzyme pills.
If I'm going for low calorie, I find cashew/almond blend milk is fantastic and only 25 calories.
You can also use Fairlife milk for higher protein and no lactose.4 -
i usually just mix it with 8 to 10 oz of water, but you can use any type of milk, juice, or you can even use it to make smoothies.2

I mix protein powder with Greek yogurt, PB2, and fiber cereal. Add milk or water if it's too thick. I like to use chocolate protein powder and chocolate PB2.1

Protein cookie dough: Half cup of canned pumpkin, 2 tbs powdered peanut butter, 1 scoop whey, packet of zero cal sweetener of choice, 2 tbs coconut flour, 1 tbs chocolate chips, 2 tablespoons milk of choice, mix all ingredients in a large bowl thoroughly and refrigerate for at least 30 mins and enjoy.2

1. Chocolate tastes much better than Vanilla
2. Mix one scoop with about 80 grams of fat free plane greek yogut
3. Mix till well blended
4. Tastes like Chocolate pudding, but you get about 40 grams of protein for about 200 calories.1 -

I drink it mixed with water or milk.
Or add it to oats for refueling after lifting.
40 grams oats - cook them first.
Then add
113 grams cottage cheese
protein powder of your choice
5 grams creatine
I also add chia seeds sometimes.
Gets around 40 grams of protein in one serving.

I have had it in water, but wasn't a fan.
For vanilla flavored, I like to use unsweetened almond milk. The vanilla and almond flavors work good together.
I think chocolate tastes best in real milk (I use fairlife milk for the extra protein). It's a really good cure for a sweet tooth.0 -

Haven't used whey protein powder in like 2 years...but a common recipe for "sludge"/protein pudding would involve using very sparing amounts of water (or milk, almond milk, or olive oil if you are into that...high fat that is...), mixing until desired consistency & adding in other various ingredients (nut butters, peanut butter, whole nuts/cashews/almonds/etc., various berries, and/or oatmeal/flaxmeal/cereal). More of a solid & satiating option with lots of options for variety vs. total liquid whey protein mixes0

I like mixing it into milk and adding some peanut butter powder and a little nesquik for a yummy chocolate peanut butter flavor. Since your whey protein is chocolate flavor, you could just add the peanut butter powder.
I feel like you're could also be really good made into a "smoothie." Out the protein and some milk into a blender with frozen strawberries or frozen raspberries. Or, use Greek yogurt instead of the Frozen fruit.0 -

1 cup, Greek Vanilla Yoghurt
2 cup, Milk-fat Free Skim
36 g, Whey Protein Rich Chocolate
2 medium banana (126 g)
Per Cup (based on MyFitnessPal calculations)
Calories: 170,
Fat: 1g,
Sat. Fat: 0g
Cholesterol: 20mg
Sodium: 126mg
Potassium: 596mg
Carb: 29g
Fiber: 3g
Sugar: 20g
Protein: 14g
Vit A: 6%
Vit C: 13%
Calcium: 37%
Iron: 2%
I am still playing with the mixture, being diabetic, I would like to reduce the sugar and sodium somehow.
If you have suggestions, I am more than willing to listen.

Maybe use plain yogurt and add some vanilla extract. That might lower the sugar a little. Or you could replace .5 to 1 banana with ice. It wouldn't be quite as creamy but you'd still get some of the thickness and less sugar (yes bananas are good for you but if you're looking to reduce sugars, they are a kind of a big hit). Or, since the yogurt is lower in sugars, replace the banana with a little more yogurt and add a little stevia if you're missing the sweetness.2 -

I make shakes with canned pumpkin, cinnamon, vanilla protein powder and milk or almond milk or also with banana, chocolate protein powder peanut butter and milk or almond milk. I also make them with any other fruits as well. If you don't have a mini blender, I would highly recommend getting one.
You said you were also looking for other suggestions, so here are two other favorites of mine:
Extra ripe banana mashed and mixed with an egg and a scoop of protein powder. Cook like a pancake. Eat with peanut butter on top. Sounds strange, but is super yummy. You can add whatever else you want in there too.
Favorite oatmeal combo: 1/2 cup rolled oats with 1/2 cup hot water, scoop of chocolate protein powder, topped with shredded unsweetened coconut and just a few butterscotch chips. Tastes like those 7 layer Toll House cookies. Sooo good!
I also like to put it in iced coffee. It does not work well in hot liquids unless you dissolve it in something cold first, and even them sometimes it will clump.1
