Adding food

I’m having trouble adding food. Do you have to go to another site and look up calories then come back here I’m already discouraged ! I’m was adding a cup of homemade okra and tomato soup and couldn’t because I didn’t know the calories? I need help how y’all do it I know I can scan bought items barcode thanks
