SEPTEMBER ~ TEAM PERSISTENT DETERMINATION? ~ introductions

WELCOME TEAM!!!!

I am posting some stuff Gary has sent out.

SEPTEMBER IS COMING! We will have two sets of exercises. I don't want this to be confusing at all. I'm thinking about using an external website to post this stuff so everyone could go to one point wherever they are. But that might be an October thing...not sure. We will have a beginner and a killer series workout. You get to decide. But push yourself. Try the killer's if your body isn't ready that just means just that you aren't ready YET! You will be though I promise. The Killer side of things will be incorporating Miss Zuzzana from Bodyrock.tv, some Wildman Training, and some tabata HIIT Training. Some of you will be like HUH? What did he just say....others will be like now we're talking. The beginners will be what we've been doing for those that are just beginning or need another month in this exercise phase! So get your self prepared because in September we're going TRIBAL! IT'S ON LIKE ROBOT DONKEY KONG!

A sneak peek at September's GOING TRIBAL CHALLENGE> This will be an example of what we will be doing in the advanced workout phase. I'm calling it the "The Bushmen Series" You will be pushing and challenging your body each day by beginning with a 4 minute workout. Everyone who decides to take or attempt the Bushmen Series will need to get up 5 minutes early. Now know groaning. What's 5 minutes really? Here is a video of some things we'll be doing! This is High Intensity Interval Training for hereforth referred to as HIIT! WE"RE GOING TRIBAL FOLKS! It's going to produce some phenomenal results.

My Previous post is for the advanced side of September. We have folks that have less than 10lbs to lose. Their fitness level is higher. We have folks who are wanting more so I've found exercises to help them push even harder with more difficult exercises. The September Challenge will have the same style of exercises as August and as always there are modifications of each exercise along with alternatives for folks with bad joints or other injuries. So please don't get discouraged. That post was for about 10% of you. The rest will be doing the normal Tribal Challenge! YOU CAN DO THIS! As a side note maybe try one of the tabata exercises you will probably surprise yourself! Keep up the great work.




:bigsmile: OK, September teams... I watched the video for the higher level fitness and we could totally do that!!! (a little modification here and there but not horrible!!!)

:bigsmile: I am getting really stoked for this... my friend I go to the gym with, asked me if I was continuing on with the challenge next month and I said "Heck Ya!!!" I may get her on here yet!!!

    Intro ~ Sonia

    I am 40 years old, I have 2 wonderful teenage sons:happy: , a terrific hubby:heart: , 2 naughty dogs:noway:, and 1 unhappy:frown: gerbil. (his buddy died a couple weeks ago:cry: )

    I am a full time college student, I should have my Bachelors in Psychology next semester. I work almost full time as a substitute teacher.

    My eventual goal weight is around 150... give or take... I'll decide when the time comes!

    I have been told that I am funny, gregarious, unusual, kind, non-judgmental, tolerant, and persistent...

    The last two I am hoping will not be wrung out of me by this challenge! Please please PLEASE!!! I am BEGGING you... consider these things before the challenge...

    Are you willing:huh: to commit to daily exercising:sick: , completing team challenges:smile: , maintaining a reasonable calorie deficit:indifferent: , drinking your 64+ ounces of water a day:drinker: , messaging me daily with your data:flowerforyou: , supporting your team mates:heart: , and kicking butt on the other teams:angry: ??? :bigsmile:

    Personally... to me... the most important ones are MESSAGING ME WITH YOUR DAILY DATA... and all the rest!!! :wink:

    I want to lose weight for several reasons... First ~ My youngest son invites me to his scouting events and I REFUSE to DIE at camp!!! Second ~ My doctor says I have to... Third ~ I wanna be at my grand-children's weddings! Fourth ~ and perhaps most importantly... I feel better when I am exercising, eating well, and weighing less... I am more energetic, happier, a better mom, wife, daughter, and friend. I have found that although I have always taken care of everyone else, I wasn't taking care of me and that was stealing my JOY and my LIFE!!!

    This is it... I'm NOT doing that anymore! I am worth this fight! My children are worth this fight! My grand-babies are worth this fight! This was brought into perspective for me while taking a self defense class, the instructor asked why I was so hesitant to inflict injury... I hemmed and I hawed... He then asked me what would happen if I was defending one of my children... I told him in no uncertain terms that I would do whatever it took to remove the threat! He looked me straight in the eyes and said "Then remember this... you are defending your children's Mother!" I am an integral part of our family, why would I choose to live a life that limits my participation or cuts it short???

    Ok, off my soap box! :laugh:

    I am encouraged to do the September challange but am also scared about it also....I am a mom to busy 8 year old twins am going back to school to finish my bachelors degree and I also work full time. I know if I put my mind to this I can do it and with the August challanges I put my kids into it also and we all did it together and that made it pretty fun..... We can to this!!!!
  • I can't weight....So ready to finaly start seeing the weight fall off....
    And with the help of my team I know I can do this.......

    Hey All!

    I need to know if everyone has gmail or access to google docs? (If you do not have gmail, I can send you an invitation)

    I want to send EACH of you a link to an INDIVIDUAL spreadsheet for you to log your info on. (If you are not particularly tech savvy, you can still message me instead) I am hoping this will streamline things a bit!

    I will be able to see your document and cut and paste your info into the Team Spreadsheet.

    I hope everyone is as excited as I am for September to begin!!!

    Anyone think of a TRIBAL name change for the Team??? Message me and I'll put them up to a vote before we start!

    SEPTEMBER TEAM...

    After a HUGE amount of people freaked out... the point system will remain the same...

    here is Gary's message...

    ATTENTION ALL CHALLENGE SERIES CONTESTANTS! Due to the overwhelming concern about the points system I've decided we will move forward in September using the complete points system as we used in August. Here's the deal......its your responsibility to contact your team captain each week with your information and weight. Captains will not be tracking you down. You dont' report....you hurt your team. We're all adults and I'm counting on each team member to participate. You may also send a report 2 or 3 times a week saying I've completed Mon - Wed. I have teammates that do that! LETS GET TRIBAL IN SEPTEMBER!

    For those staying with me, I have made a Google Docs Spreadsheet for each of you... you can fill this in yourself and I will fill from that to the main spreadsheet... If you cannot do google docs or are not particularly computer literate, I will still continue to receive as messages, but you MUST message me... I cannot track you down, with school, work, scouts, volunteer work, AND trying to do this MYSELF also!!! lol :-) (If you do not have a google account I will send you the invite, so you can access this)


    I have several possible Team names submitted.... Persistent Determination... Wannaweigh'wa.... Gawn'na'weigh... momma'gonnalose'alottaweigh... gonnalose'alottaweigh... gonnalose'alotta... No'gonnagivup...

    Welcome and thank you so much for being a team captain for this MFP Challenge. I believe this is one
    of the largest MFP Challenges to date and it’s all made possible by you! You folks really are ROCKSTARS!
    If a team member is unable to fulfill their place a replacement can be made please update me with the
    information.
    September 1st Deadline
    · Make sure you have contacted each team member and given them your forum post link
    · Obtain everyone’s starting weight as of September 1st or the night before
    · Post the weekly challenges to your team forum prior to September 1st and prior to each week
    · End of the week tally your teams points (this can be done daily if easier)
    · Add Bonus Points at the end of the week where applicable
    The scoring is as follows. I hope this is simple. If you have questions I’ll answer them for you.
    · 1 point for each pound lost per team member
    · 1 point for each team member who does their daily exercise challenge (1 point per member)
    · 1 point for the other weekly challenges (water intake, staying under calories etc.) Each week
    different challenge per member
    · (you will put 1 in the excel spreadsheet)
    · BONUS POINTS
    o Daily Exercise – If every team member logs the daily exercise as doing it for all 6 days
    Mon – Sat. You may award your TEAM an extra 5 points
    o Weekly Challenges – if every team member log the weekly challenge as doing it for all 6
    days Mon – Sat. You may award your TEAM an extra 5 points
    Each week you will email me your Team Name and your total points! This is all honor based so please

    SEPTEMBER CHALLENGE
    WEEK 1 – BUSHMEN SERIES (Advanced)
    Week One Daily Exercise Challenge
    Each team member that completes their daily exercise challenge receives one point, if all team members complete each daily exercise for all 6 days the team is then awarded an additional 5 Bonus Points.
    Welcome to 300 Week You will do 6 exercises at 50 reps as quickly as possible 3 times this week. These are not to be broken up into segments. You are the BUSHMEN it’s time to push yourself!
    Day 1 - 50 Squat Kicks, 50 Jumping Jacks , 50 Crunches, 50 Mountain Climbers, 50 Wood Chops and last but not least 50 Globe Jumps!
    Day 2 - 2 sets of 15 Swimmer’s Presses, 2 sets of 21’s, 2 sets of 15 Dumbbell Chest Fly’s, 2 Sets of 15 Lawnmowers, 2 sets of Tricep Kickbacks, 2 sets of 15 Shoulder Shrugs (weighted)
