You really don’t need to work out to lose weight. You just need to consume less calories than you burn.5

Any and every form of exercise will help burn fat - providing you are eating at a deficit. Weight loss happens in the kitchen. If you don't have a food scale get one, eat a well-rounded diet you can stick to long-term that is properly weighed and tracked, keep your protein up, keep a reasonable deficit and eat a portion of your exercise calories back. The gym is a great thing if you enjoy it and it sounds like you do, so keep it up. Just understand your eating is just as (if not more) important.5

Walking.
Riding your bike.
Running.
Calisthenics.
Jumping rope.
Swimming.
Crossfit boot camp.
Elliptical.
Rowing machine.
Skiing.
Skating.
Climbing trees.
Digging a hole.
Shoveling snow.
Chopping wood.
Playing sports.
Just make sure, as advised above, that you are eating at a deficit.0 -

Exercise in and of itself doesn't burn fat, and you can't spot reduce fat from certain areas with specific exercises. You burn fat when you're in a calorie (energy) deficit. You need a certain number of calories to maintain weight and this is dependent on your stats and activity level. You consume calories (energy) in excess of what your body requires, you store fat...body fat is just stored energy...it's like a backup generator. When you consume less energy than your body requires, that difference needs to be reconciled...so your backup generator kicks on and you burn stored energy (body fat).1 -

Something you haven't heard...
When you are 20 (as you stated in your original original post) you may think you know everything there is to know about weight loss and many other subjects...
...it is what you learn after you know it all that counts.7 -

Well that was an interesting change...4 -
You seem to have changed your post and possibly the title after getting several responses, which is confusing.
Not knowing what you've heard, it's hard to say what you haven't heard.
But here's my attempt, something I've heard here many times - Weight loss isn't easy, but it is simple.8 -
Wait what?0

It most certainly was. Based on the original post, and in response to the drastically edited post, I would also have to add that you can't target specific areas for fat-burning, like arms and the other body parts referenced. It's going to come off where it's going to come off. Now you know, and knowing is half the battle.2 -
What happened here? So confused.0

Feels a little passive-aggressive, honestly.3 -
You tell us what you know then we can tell you what you don't know.
One thing most people are surprised at is that you lose weight off your feet and often have to go down a shoe size. Is that the kind of thing you mean.5 -
How about this one? With lifting heavy, I'm loving my body more at 189.6 pounds (as of this morning) than I ever did at 150.7

Fat leaves your body primarily through your breath.6

Since they have only made one post, maybe they are just really confused by the system.0

IDK why it was edited but it's fun to list obscure stuff about weight loss.2 -
Does it need to be something true? If not, there's a lot one could make up, like insulin fairies.4

For some, (hmm, hmm, naming no names here, h) alcahol tolerance can drop with weight loss.
Cheers, h.4 -

Are ya drinkin' right now?
OP, there are all sorts of weird things that get posted about weight loss. For the most part, you have to ask yourself if it actually makes sense. Does it make sense that this single magical substance (ACV, Garcinia Cambogia, green tea pills) is the miracle cure for burning fat? If it were, would obesity rates be rising?3 -
OP has left the building.3

Weight loss takes patience and a long time
Most people gain back lost weight because they don't permanently improve their habits
Weight loss is one activity where losers are winners0 -
