Avoid weight gain after water fast

How do you avoid gaining back the weight after a water fast?

    Yes, because the weight loss you had during the fast was from waste (poop), glycogen (water weight), and a tiny bit of fat. In that order.

    Yes...or at least most of it...because you mostly lost water weight and depleted glycogen stores and had far less food and waste in your system.

    If you fasted long enough to lose 1 pound of fat, then no you won't gain that 1 pound of fat back if you continue to eat within your maintenance calories. It's always about calories, not they type of food.

    But as bpetrosky pointed out everything else will come back.

    With a water fast your bowels become empty, not true when you eat food.....ANY kind of food. Your body stores glycogen for energy, when you eat food (again it doesn't matter what type) your body replenishes those stores.
