Hi guys, I have a question about MFP. Why doesn't strenght excercise consume any calories? Theoretically that is impossible since for any work you need energy. And especially in human body when you're working out big muscle groups excercises such as squats, deadlifts etc. Now I know It's anaerobic and it generally lasts pretty shortly but I'm curious since I usually do strenght training and then cardio. Cheers.

Log it as strength training under the cardio section.

The cardio section gives calorie burns for both aerobic and anaerobic exercise. The strength training section is for tracking sets, reps, etc.

On heavy sets with long rests, I don't log any calories, and I just enjoy the extra mental buffer while eating maintenance calories. I have done multiple rounds of Erin Stern's Elite Body Trainer, and it's a combo of HIIT, heavy super sets with relative short rest periods, and heart rate to the max. On those, I will wear my HR monitor and take the results off it. That's one of those 'my cardio is faster lifting' things.. :D

It's a common issue. Their headings aren't clear.
