Lunch or dinner.

Breakfast? Or dinner - though in that case it's typically a second more substantial dinner. Not eating after most of my workouts would mean fasting the entire day which would not end well.0

Depends if I'm hungry. I usually have a decent meal with carbs and protein before I workout as I've found it gives me energy to workout. Sometimes I'll have a protein shake after - easy to down even if not hungry.0

Usually I crave for a smoothie0

I work out in the morning about an hour after I wake up. When I wake I'll eat a banana and a bottle of water. After my workout I will throw back a protein shake and if I'm still hungry I will have a snack or lunch depending on how hungry I am. I don't get real hungry until dinner and that will probably be my biggest meal with a small snack if I'm feeling peckish after a couple hours before bed.0

For everyday workouts it just fits in my normal eating schedule so lunch or dinner as I don't do early morning workouts. For late evening workouts after dinner - nothing.
After a very long ride (4+ hours) I'll be eating/drinking with recovery in mind, normally a 4:1 ratio of carbs to protein.
What are your thoughts OP?0 -
Breakfast- prep egg cups on Sunday and eat all week. I love making zero decisions during the week about what I eat for breakfast. It's done and full of carbs, proteins and fats. And salt cause bacon.0

I never eat before a workout, but after a 5K or 10K run or a long hike I usually get a Wendy’s Spicy Chicken Sandwich (no mayo), fries with extra salt and a large Diet Coke. That’s my usual post workout meal.1

Anything less than a two hour run or bike ride I don't worry about it. When I come in after a long effort I enjoy a PB and banana sandwich or maybe a smoothie with added protein. This is mostly so I won't eat the entire kitchen at the next scheduled regular meal.0

As long as you're getting good nutrition throughout your day, it doesn't matter if you eat after a workout or not. Personal preference.0

I usually eat lunch after. Something high in protein (usually a chicken breast) and vegetables. Add rice/pasta/noodles if I am bulking or maintaining.0

I don't time my eating around my workouts. I time it around when I'm hungry. Unless you are an elite athlete trying to get that last 0.1% advantage, meal timing doesn't matter. Getting adequate protein overall does matter, though. So make sure you're hitting your protein goals daily.
