I'm 27, female, 5'4 324lbs, from the UK. Morbidly obese by a long way.
Quite common issues of portion control issues and enormous snacking issues. Emotional eating like it's going out of fashion. I've got PCOS and insulin resistance, treated but even so, I'd really prefer it didn't turn into full blown type 2 diabetes. Joint and back pains, owing to weight on top of issues caused by hypermobility. Probably wouldn't be an issue at a healthy weight, but at mine it's another factor to make pain worse. My back x-rays show I'm basically close to developing arthritis. I've got time to stop it, but not much.
Usually I give up after a week or two. I have a bad day or two, and that's it. This time I'm resolved to keep logging and keep trying, more resolved than I've ever been. Including if I eat a ridiculous amount, I need to log it, accept it, move on.
I'm aiming for 1lb a week, not worrying if my intake is 500cals or less below the goal. I don't want to go below that as I'm prone to making things too hard for myself before giving up! I won't worry during period week (well 3-4 bad days) if my calories are at maintainance, at least for a month or two. Staying the same is better than gaining. My current goal is 234lbs, as that would take me to normally obese. Aiming at a 92lb loss from my starting is intimidating enough!
Anyway, long intro, my current motivation is to fit properly into one of my very nice dresses for a family wedding in May. More than enough time at 1lb a week! 10-14lbs off and it'll fit beautifully. And a good start, and a good reason to push through the hardest weeks.
A SW friend has halo top ice cream, which is fairly low calorie (considering my calorie goals) even if I ate a whole pint (I think the one I tried was 320cals for a pot), so I plan to buy some of that for my shark weeks.
Seeing the posts of how well some of you have done are doing makes it feel possible!

I feel you on all points! I too am starting out again, this time I can not and will not give up until I reach my goal. I seems like a long way to reach it and days may seem impossible but. I will not give in to being the happy chubby girl any more!2

Sounds like you are going about this the right way. Log everything, no matter what, and keep a sensible deficit. Good luck!
I probably have 9 Halo Tops (or another brand equivalent) in my freezer right now. I make room for a dessert every night. I freak out and binge if I try to completely cut chocolate and ice cream out of my diet.1 -
It's definitely possible and sounds like you've got a sustainable plan to make it work.
Good luck :drinker:1
