Riddle me this...

I am 5'10" and currently weigh 151. Not super skinny. But have lost 17 lbs slooooowly since I began in March. I'm about 6 pounds from my goal weight. I am not even trying to be my thinnest that I maintained for years which was between 135 and 140.
I have had comments from two of my skinniest friends (way thinner than me) that I need to stop losing weight. Ummmm, really?! Why?! What is that about?!
And an additional vent...I have gone through a huge upheaval in my personal life during this process. I had to ask my husband of 20 years to move out. Major stress. And while there were a couple of weeks initially where the stress did affect my eating (as in I was forgetting to eat) and exercise (couldn't face it) I didn't really lose extra weight then. So it kind of chaps me when people chalk up my weight loss to a stress or divorce diet. Hell no! It has been hard work!
OK. Vent over. Carry on.

Who gives a damn what other people think? It's your life. Live it as you see fit.
Peace be with you!0 -

Last time I lost weight I dropped 60 pounds in 5 months. I had people tell me that I was getting too skinny (I still weighed about 160lbs), other people would ask my boss if I was sick. Use to drive me crazy!!! I know some of the comments weren't meant to be complimentary and some were truly out of concern.
Just brush it off and move on, you're doing great!0 -
It's possible your friends are concerned you're not eating or taking care of yourself. When I first started losing weekly, one of my co workers asked if I was 'taking anything' LOL People are stupid regarding Health & Nutrition, they really are.
I get teased at work almost every day cause I'm not eating fried and/or fast food .. wtf!? oh well
If they're good friends, ask them why they say that & discuss it with them - if not, tell them to piss off (or not, everybody can't be wicked cricket)0 -
Oh yes.....how could they believe you are doing this for you....for you to feel better....to be healthier....etc! Oh no....they think they know it all.....
But....realize too.....these people may actually care for you...thank them for their concern...and tell them you are feeling great and would just like to get in a pair of your old jeans! ; )0 -

Absolutely... you can never make people happy so just make yourself happy. People will comment when you're fat, they will comment you're thin. So screw them, I'm going to be what I want to be!
YOU TOO!0
