I am just starting my journey to a better healthier me! I have been walking on treadmill 4 times a week for 3 weeks! I usually go between 2.5 to 4.0 on a 3 incline for anywhere from 13-20 min! 75 percent of the time I get a pain in my right leg in the middle between knee and ankle! I have to slow down to 2.6 when this happens! I stretch my legs before hand and doesn’t seem to help much! I have tried to jog for 20 seconds and then back to walk. Opinions please!

Also I have not been active at all really before this’

Have you tried reducing the incline?
  • No. I guess I should try that.

I find a 0.5 to 1 incline is about all I want when walking on a treadmill. Any higher, then it puts my feet into an awkward position. That's OK if you're climbing a short hill outside for 2 or 3 minutes, but if you're trying to do that for 20 minutes, it's going to cause pain ... unless you've gradually built up to it.
  • Thank u. I am going to try this!
  • Just FYI I walked without incline today for 22 mins and didn’t have the pain so maybe I was trying to do more than I should to begin with! Thank u for ur help!🤗

I also suffer with on and off again knee pain and my primary workouts are on my treadmill. When the knee hurts I don't do any more than a 1 incline. It's a bummer because I love incline walking but I also love no knee pain. :/
