Fitbit steps are tracking in myfitnesspal as calories eaten!

When I sync my fitbit to myfitness pal, it adds the steps as exercise just fine but it tracks the exercise as calories eaten rather than exercise? So if I burn 150 calories it takes 150 calories from my daily calories. I have tried logging out and in again. I have tried unpairing my fitbit but it is still the same. Has anybody ever had this problem? Thanks!

Is it taking them off because you haven't done enough steps? If your fitbit is set to do negative calories too then if you are doing less steps than your activity level on MFP it will take them off.2

I second this. If you have your activity level set too high on MFP, fitbit may give you a negative adjustment if you haven't done enough exercise during the day to warrant the activity level you have.
Personally I have mine set on sedentary then let fitbit sync to MFP to add anything extra for the day. Don't worry if you sync in the morning and you get a negative adjustment, this is because fitbit is extrapolating from the first few hours for the whole day.1 -
That’s a great response thank you! So if my mfp is set to ‘not very active’ should this help? I am looking at my records from yesterday it tells me I did 9000 steps and logged exercise as 14? If I do less steps say on the day before - I did 7463 which logged my exercise as 287? It’s very confusing 🙈0
